This indeed points to a software problem and it could well be caused by a 3rd party program. However this type of situation is well documented going back to Windows Vista and often appears to coincide with a Windows Update. Fletch, mt W7 H.P. does not have that (Start>All programs>System Tools>Run Internet Explorer without Add-ons) showing. All programs needs to have you select ACCESSORIES to even get to SYSTEM TOOLS, but no such option is there.

First; open your file browser to the New profile; Type about:support in the address bar and press enter. Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
